The Role of a Product Manager

As a Product Manager on the Buyer & Marketing Product Team, you’ll play an essential role in shaping the future of Shopee’s platform. You’ll work at the intersection of business, design, and engineering, tackling both consumer and business challenges. Your responsibilities will include defining key product features, contributing to product strategy, and helping to shape the roadmap for each product line.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need excellent communication skills, business acumen, and a knack for seamless collaboration. By driving product initiatives from concept to completion, you’ll ensure that the solutions we deliver align with business goals and enhance the overall user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and address both consumer and business challenges by working closely with business, design, and engineering teams.
  • Oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring all goals and objectives are met within deadlines.
  • Prioritize product features based on their impact and importance.
  • Conduct market research and gather intelligence to guide product development, keeping Shopee competitive in the market.
  • Develop and implement optimal product solutions that address both user and business needs.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication across teams at all levels, both in meetings and in written form.
  • Foster collaboration among cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and focus on product success.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, Business, or a related field (graduating in 2025).
  • Previous internship experience in the e-commerce industry or product management is a plus.
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to take on a variety of roles and responsibilities in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a drive to tackle challenging business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and prioritization skills to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • A keen interest in the e-commerce ecosystem and an understanding of global e-commerce marketplaces.
  • Sharp analytical skills to assess the impact of features both during initial assessments and after launch.
