About the Opportunity:
DMI is currently seeking a Computer Specialist to join our growing team. This role will involve hands-on work with mobile systems and a range of IT equipment, providing both installation and repair services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Installation and Repair Services:

    • Work on mobile systems including In-Car Computers, In-Car Cameras, and Body Worn Cameras, along with associated peripherals.
    • Coordinate with end users to install and repair IT-related equipment, including providing training on computer systems at agency fixed site facilities.
  2. Software and System Management:

    • Install and configure audio logging software used with radio communication workstations.
    • Test and maintain mobile data computers (running Windows OS), printers, and scanners.
    • Install, configure, and maintain all camera systems, including Body Worn Cameras for Trooper Installation.
  3. Travel and Support:

    • Travel to multiple agency facilities, from Queen Anne’s County to Somerset County, located on the East Coast of Maryland.
    • Provide after-hours support as needed.
  4. Ticket Management:

    • Manage web help desk tickets with an expected response time of 24 hours for non-urgent issues and immediate follow-up for urgent matters.
    • Timely responses to tickets involving travel should be made within 4 hours.
  5. Documentation and Training:

    • Create clear, concise documentation on system updates, project work, and troubleshooting processes.
    • Produce user guides for systems deployed by DMI.
    • Provide training to end users on all related systems.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in fields such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related disciplines, or three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field.

Experience:

  • At least five (5) years of computer experience in at least two of the following disciplines: systems analysis, systems programming, application programming, or equipment analysis.
  • At least three (3) years of experience as a computer hardware and/or systems software specialist, or as a systems analyst, specifically working with third- and fourth-generation hardware and software in system management or large-scale system development and maintenance.

Preferred Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with technologies such as:
    • Windows OS
    • In-Car Camera (Dashcam) and Body Worn Camera systems
    • INFORM Software

Additional Requirements:

  • H1B citizenship status is required.
